Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Society has once again become a pillar of support for the next generation of researchers by awarding grants to young scientists. In the spring 2015 cycle of its Grants-in-Aid of Research program, the Society selected 185 undergraduate and graduate students to receive a total of $135,999.

Approximately 150 people gathered at the University of Chicago on February 21 to honor the life of a medical and research pioneer, Dr. Julian H. Lewis. Lewis was Sigma Xi’s first African American member. He was inducted into the Society in 1913 by the University of Chicago Chapter.
