American Scientist magazine has been recognized for its excellence and leadership in association publishing with four 2023 EXCEL Awards from SIIA’s Association Media and Publishing (AM&P).

The Linus Pauling Professor of Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering and Biochemistry at the California Institute of Technology, will be the featured Saturday speaker for Sigma Xi's annual conference, taking place November 10–12, 2023 in Long Beach, California.

The distinguished Duke University professor and regular contributor to American Scientist magazine passed away on June 14 at the age of 81.
