It is with great pride that we present the Sigma Xi Annual Report for fiscal year 2020, encompassing July 1, 2019–June 30, 2020.
The Annual Report shares data and success stories that demonstrate what the Sigma Xi community has achieved in support of the research enterprise. The report features the inaugural cohort of Sigma Xi Fellows and showcases many of the successful programs and events throughout the year, chapter highlights, news about publications, and accomplishments of our members.
Fiscal year 2020 was defined by an extreme shift in perspective and operations with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. The twelve-month period ended much differently than it began, and the resiliency of the Society and its members was put to the test. Like many organizations across the globe, we now face new challenges as we pivot and adapt to a new normal. Because of the hard work, generosity, and perseverance of our leaders, volunteers, members, and supporters, we have been able to continue forward with our commitment to fostering integrity in science and engineering while promoting the public's understanding of science for the purpose of improving the human condition.
