Rachael Cusick RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC— Sigma Xi is pleased to announce that Rachael Cusick, an associate producer for Radiolab, will be a keynote speaker at its Annual Meeting and Student Research Conference. The conference takes place November 5–8 at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center in Alexandria, Virginia.

This conference will showcase emerging trends and challenges across a broad spectrum of science–art collaborations and explore how interdisciplinarity can advance scientific discoveries.

Radiolab  is a Peabody Award-winning public radio program that explores the world through science, sound, and character-driven narratives. During her years at Radiolab, Cusick has worked on stories about things like reproductive biology, the history of intelligence research, and what the world would look like if it turned into blueberries.

At the conference, Cusick plans to discuss “Radiolab Presents: G,” the program’s 2019 documentary series on intelligence that had her diving into the oddest search for genius the world has ever seen, including how art and science together can unlock mysteries that neither could have found alone.

Registration is open for the conference, and early bird pricing is available through July 14: www.sigmaxi.org/amsrc20.
