Corey launched and writes the new Out There column in DISCOVER and related Out There blog on Discovermagazine.com. Manages DISCOVER's editorial transition and runs new partnerships with the National Science Foundation (NSF) and SynBERC (a public-private research consortium at UC-Berkeley). He is collaborating with Bill Nye on his first adult-oriented book. Corey writes freelance stories for Slate, Popular Science, andThe New Yorker. He oversaw special issues and brand-extension projects of DISCOVER, including collaborations with the NSF, IO9, SXSW, Comic-Con, the National Association of Science Teachers, and Revision3 (co-producer of our "Joe Genius" Web video series). Among his many accomplishments, he launched the first Scientific American Web site, scientificamerican.com, served as script consultant on the Scientific American Frontiers TV show, was Adjunct Professor of Journalism at New York University for seven years, wrote God in the Equation: How Einstein Transformed Religion (Free Press, 2003) and contributed chapters in My Einstein by John Brockman, ed. as well as What Are You Optimistic About? He is a regular science commentator on Fox News. Other appearances include guest spots on on CNN, MSNBC, ABC News, Science Friday, the Sci Fi Channel, WCBS, BBC Radio, 1010 WINS, and—perhaps most surprising—Shade45, the SiriusXM channel run by Eminem.
