VIRTUAL STUDENT SCHOLARS SYMPOSIUM (VS³)

As the world continues to practice social distancing, Sigma Xi is proud to host an international, multidisciplinary Virtual Student Scholars Symposium (VS³).

This one-day event is an opportunity for high school, undergraduate, and graduate students to present and celebrate their research and engage with peers and professionals from the comfort of their home.

The program includes poster and oral presentations across science, technology, engineering, math, and medicine (STEMM) disciplines, in addition to career preparation sessions.

Participation will be capped to 100 students. Students may select to only present (non-competitive) or compete for monetary awards.

Timeline and How to Participate

April 17: Abstracts due

May 11 Noon ET: Registration deadline (students will be invited to register upon review and approval of their abstract. Register here!)

May 13: Poster presentations and the event schedule will be available on the Sigma Xi website.

May 14: Live Zoom event

May 15, 2:00–2:30 p.m. ET: Awards announcement. Join the Zoom session for awards

The abstract review process will be waived for abstracts previously accepted for presentation at a national or international conference that was canceled due to COVID-19. Students will be asked to send proof of prior acceptance to programs@sigmaxi.org.  

Registration Fee

The registration fee is $20 (USD) for both Sigma Xi members and non-members.
