Sigma Xi Leaders Share Thoughts About "Honor"

Research Triangle Park, North Carolina — When an honor society opens its doors to you, why should you join? What place does honor hold in our world today? Leaders of four honor societies, including Sigma Xi, shared their answers in the summer 2014 edition of Phi Kappa Phi Forum.

The article, "The Role and Value of Honor Today: A Roundtable," also has input from leaders of Omicron Delta Kappa, The National Leadership Honor Society; Phi Beta Kappa Society, and The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, which publishes Phi Kappa Phi Forum.

The Sigma Xi leaders who contributed to the article are President Linda Meadows and Executive Director Jerry Baker.

"When nominated for induction into Sigma Xi, a scientist or engineer is acclaimed by peers, validating and affirming the quality of the research and the caliber of the person," writes President Meadows.
