Welcome to the Sigma Xi Partners in Education Database. We are very pleased to offer this convenient way for scientists and engineers to volunteer to work with K-12 teachers and their students.

The Partners in Education Database has three separate parts:
- volunteer sign-up
- teacher access to search the database
- message board for both volunteers and teachers
Partners in Educations enter information about their availability, their location and what activities they are interested in. A volunteer can remove his/her listing or modify it at any time. They can also indicate temporary unavailability, a feature that would be useful during a period of heavy work commitment or travel, for example.
Teachers must apply for access to the database and their credentials and institutional affiliation will be verified by a Sigma Xi staff member before their account is activated, allowing them to search the database.
The message board is open to both volunteers and teachers and allows communication on shared topics of interest, and on how to use the database. The message board permits emailing between parties using a specially dedicated email address so that correspondence related to the Partners in Education Database can be kept separate from general e-mail.
